DIY: Cannabis-Infused Butter

Butter is the base for so many yummy things in life. We love brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, perfectly browned meats, toast, fried eggs, and so much more! This dairy superstar not only adds flavor but also adds a richness that is truly hard to replicate.

One thing that good stoners have always done is tried to make great things even better by simply just adding weed. So… why not do that with butter? While there are a ton of recipes out there, we have had great success with this using a crockpot and wanted to share that with you guys. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 ounce of flower

16 ounces of butter

Instructions:

Fill your crockpot up with hot water to create a water bath. You want to be able to cover the top of your mason jars! Start the crockpot on high and when a temperature of 185° F is reached, turn the crockpot to low.

Set oven to 225°. Lightly break up your flower and spread it across the cookie sheets and put on the middle racks in the oven. You will know when it is ready because it should look toasted and golden brown when done. Let cool!

Put the butter sticks and de-carbed flower inside of the mason jars, splitting evenly. Be careful to wipe the rim of the jar and do not tighten the lid too tightly.

Once the water bath reaches 185° F, place jars inside with the lid on and leave alone to infuse for 4 hours. Once 4 hours is over, set aside to cool.

Once cool enough to handle, strain the liquid of each jar with cheesecloth to separate the cannabis from the butter. Drain butter into whatever container you want to use to hold it and then place it in the fridge to harden completely. Drain leftover liquids when finished and it is ready to serve!

Notes:

Do not ever heat your butter up in the microwave. This kills off any good cannabinoids that are in there!
